Three goals from Mark O'Sullivan ensured that Meath will ply their trade in Division 2A of the NHL next season, following this impressive win over Wicklow at Parnell Park yesterday.

The Royals laid the foundations for their victory in the opening half, and were leading 2-9 to 2-6 at the break.

The Meath men then produced a devastating burst of scoring in a frantic seven-minute spell immediately after half-time.

They scored 1-6 to go ahead 3-15 to 2-6 and effectively put themselves out of reach of their opponents, with O'Sullivan striking his third goal in that spell.

Wicklow were able to reduced the deficit to eight points at one stage but substitute Neil Heffernan ended any hopes of a close finish with his side's fourth goal.
