One storm blows Interpros off course
The beleaguered Interprovincials have been treated so badly for so long that nothing should surprise them anymore.
Still, even in their deepest state of understandable cynicism, they would not have expected the weather to come to the assistance of the many powerful lobbies in the GAA who want them zapped into oblivion.
Enter Storm Desmond, which blew them away last weekend. A decision will be taken in January as to when they might be played but it's highly likely that they won't get an outing until next December. In effect, the 2015 Interpros will probably never be played.
That may not figure very high on the agenda at a time when major fixture issues are under consideration but isn't it ridiculous that any competition can be blown off the schedule by one storm? Still, it suits those who refuse to see the potential of the Interpros.
