Leitrim exacted revenge for their league defeat when they deservedly defeated Warwickshire in an entertaining Lory Meagher Championship game in Pairc na hÉireann, Birmingham.

Although the exiles led the early exchanges, a superb individual goal from Padraig O'Donnell after eight minutes gave Leitrim the edge and they dominated for the remainder of the half

A second yellow card for Leitrim's Colm Moreton in the 32nd minute handed Warwickshire an advantage and they scored three points without reply to leave the half time score 1-10 to 0-7 in favour of Leitrim.

In an evenly contested second half, Warwickshire reduced the arrears with early points by Emmet McCabe and Sean Hennessy and were back in the game when Colin Moran goaled with ten minutes remaining. In an exciting finale, points from Padraig O'Donnell and an extra-time point by John Ryan secured the Leitrim victory.
