The worldwide appeal of our national games may have received a boost with games being televised on Sky Sports, but now the have received recognition from one of the most globally renowned publications.

In their list of 'Top 10 Fall Things to Do in Ireland and Northern Ireland', the magazine recommends that visitors do their best to get their hands on a ticket for "the experience of a lifetime".

I hope some of their subscribers were in Croke Park last Sunday as Kilkenny and Tipperary enthralled us with one of the greatest ever games of hurling.

If they have missed it, they shouldn't fear because with Donegal and Kerry set to do battle on September 21 and the hurling replay six days later, there is plenty of GAA action still left to savour.

If you can't get a coveted ticket, National Geographic recommends that you enjoy the GAA Museum and take the tour of Croke Park.

Other events or places to make the list include: Tour the Tombs at Glasnevin Cemetery, Enjoy Traditional Irish Music, the Waterford Harvest Festival and more.
