Murphy brace lands final spot
Glenmore 3-10 Dungrouney1-11
Glenmore march on to the All-Ireland JHC final next month after they clinically disposed of 13-man Dungourney in an ill-tempered affair at Carriganore.
The Kilkenny side had the wind behind them for the first half and moved 2-5 to 0-4 clear at the break. In the 10th minute, Alan Murphy fetched a long-range free and unleashed a bullet past David Hennessy.
Emmett Vereker and Mark Aylward quickly added points to establish a 1-4 to 0-1 advantage.
Dungourney were reduced to 14 men when James McCarthy received a second yellow. On 23 minutes, Eoin Murphy and Vereker combined for Alan Murphy to lash his second to the top corner.
Ryan Denny persevered for Dungourney and converted six frees. They could only get within six points however as Mark Aylward fired to the net with 14 remaining to kill off the Cork side.
Referee Justin Heffernan showed two reds and eight yellows across the 60 minutes and Hickey made the long walk following another flare-up. Full-forward Shane Casey blasted a consolation goal in injury-time.
