Lorcan McLoughlin gave a sublime display in Newbridge on Saturday as his seven points - along with goals from Alan O'Keeffe, Anthony Nash and James Fitzpatrick - put Kanturk into the final against St Patrick's of Ballyragget.

Cork's Kanturk were off to a flier against Armagh's Middletown Na Fianna as Alan O'Keeffe had a goal on the board within 42 seconds.

Blitzing Na Fianna in the opening 20 minutes, Kanturk led 2-5 to 0-2 after an Anthony Nash penalty in the 14th minute.

As Na Fianna struggled for scores - relying on three Ryan Gaffney frees - four McLoughlin points gave Kanturk a 2-8 to 0-5 lead at half-time.

With the wind behind Kanturk in the second-half, Darren Browne's 36th-minute clearance created the chance for James Fitzpatrick to bundle goalkeeper and ball into the net for Kanturk's third goal.

Slackening off the pace to allow Middletown's Kiernan McKiernan, Gaffney and Martin Maguire gain momentum, McLoughlin was cheered off the pitch with seven points as Kanturk booked the place in the final against Kilkenny's St Patrick's Ballyragget.

SCORERS - Kanturk: L McLoughlin 0-7 (5f), A Nash 1-1 (pen, 1f), A O'Keeffe and J Fitzpatrick 1-0 each; A Walsh 0-2; J Browne, I Walsh and L O'Neill 0-1 each. Na Fianna: R Gaffney 0-6 (6f), K McKiernan 0-2, N. Curry (f), C Carvill, D Carvill and M Maguire 0-1 each.
