Monaghan made the most of a 14th-minute red card for Fermanagh full-forward Daniel Teague as their front-line trio caused havoc time and again.

The Monaghan full-forward line accounted for 5-7, with Brian McGuigan hitting a hat-trick. There were just five points between the teams at the break, but Monaghan swooped when Stephen Lambe hit the net inside the first 30 seconds of the restart.

Conor McShea did plunder a goal for the home side but they never looked like they could haul in the dangerous Monaghan.

Mark Treanor at full-forward helped himself to 1-1 as they made the most of their advantage.
