Longford maintained their unbeaten record with a hard-fought victory at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Despite building a healthy five-point cushion at half-time, the midlanders almost let victory slip from their grasp in the closing exchanges after Warwickshire registered a fortuitous goal with ten minutes remaining.

Ray Gavin's outfit, however, regained their composure after a cracking goal from their full-forward John Mulhern.

The locals got off to a blistering start thanks to top marksman Eoin Donnellan, who registered an impressive 1-10 in total.

Warwickshire's John Reddan and Conor Robbins kept their hopes alive with fine individual performances but they played second fiddle for long periods of this entertaining encounter.
