Kilcormac/Killoughey book Leinster final place with dominant win over Mount Leinster Rangers
Kilcormac/Killoughey 2-21 Mount Leinster Rangers 0-10
Kilcormac/Killoughey are back into the Leinster club senior hurling final for the third time in six years after a convincing 17-point win over Mount Leinster Rangers in Tullamore.
After a competitive opening half, the Offaly champions blitzed their Carlow counterparts in the final 30 minutes as they now move on to a Leinster final clash with reigning Leinster and All-Ireland champions Cuala.
Their second half tour de force was even more impressive considering they lost key midfielder Cillian Kiely to a straight red card five minutes before the break after he struck Diarmuid Byrne with the hurl in an off-the-ball incident.
The double K’s were 1-8 to 0-4 up at half time with James Gorman firing to the net on 27 minutes as they got the last three scores of the half to see them comfortable at the break.
Dan Currams and James Gorman dominated in the second half and scored for fun as space opened up and Kilcormac/Killoughey proved relentless in putting the exclamation point on the win with Gorman finishing with 1-5 and Currams on 1-3.
