Tipperary will be without Kieran Bergin this summer as they look to retain their Liam McCarthy crown.

The 31-year-old has left Michael Ryan's Tipp panel having last featured in the final-round league defeat to Cork last month.

He was an unused sub in the semi-final win over Wexford and the heavy final defeat to Galway last weekend.

He is understood to have dropped off the panel due to work commitments.

The Killenaule clubman joined the Premier County squad in 2013 and came on in the latter stages of last September's All-Ireland triumph over Kilkenny.

The story was first reported on The42.
