Kiely demands continued high standards from Limerick

Limerick manager John Kiely won't stand for any slackers in his squad for the remainder of the league campaign.

Promotion from Division 1B now looks like a long shot for the Shannonsiders following Wexford's victory over Galway, but Kiely says there's still plenty to play for.

Indeed, he warned that "any fella that goes out there and doesn't put in the hard yards won't be there too long".

There were hat-tricks on either side as Ronan Lynch collected 3-11 for Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds, with Padraig Boyle notching a goal treble for the visitors.

Limerick were 2-13 to 2-3 clear at half-time before Lynch collected his second-half treble, with Kevin O'Brien also netting with his first touch after coming on as substitute.

Goals from Graeme Mulcahy and Tom Morrissey put daylight between the sides as Kerry - who lost by 0-16 to 4-28 against Limerick in the Munster senior hurling league - suffered another hiding.
