Just four of Cuala's All-Ireland winners have joined up with Pat Gilroy's Dublin
JUST four members of Cuala’s double All-Ireland winners could be linking up with the Dublin hurlers this summer.
The Herald understands that Cian O’Callaghan, Seán Moran, Jake Malone and David Treacy have rejoined the county panel as Pat Gilroy gears up for his first Leinster SHC campaign.
Barring further additions that would leave several high-profile absentees, most notably Darragh O’Connell. The Kerry native would have been viewed as a likely first-choice midfielder.
It will also increase speculation that Mark Schutte, who opted off the panel last year before joining the footballers and winning an All-Ireland SFC medal, could remain involved with Jim Gavin’s squad.
Schutte’s older brother Paul looks destined not to play any county hurling this summer after he tore his hamstring off the bone (for a second time) during their All-Ireland club final replay win over Na Piarsaigh.
The Dublin hurlers have yet to announce an official summer panel ahead of their Leinster round-robin opener against Kilkenny, in Parnell Park on May 13.
Latest indications are that likes of Oisín Gough, Colm Cronin and Seán Treacy won’t be involved.
