The Independent.ie Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final replay has been confirmed for Wednesday week in Páirc Ui Rinn.

It's the first time a Fitzgibbon Cup final has gone to a replay since 2001. Last Saturday's decider between Waterford IT and University of Limerick finished on a score-line of 0-21 to 3-12 at a wet Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, after just one period of extra-time was played.

Previous finals, including the 2008 decider which saw WIT claim a 1-29 to 1-24 win over Limerick IT at Cork IT, saw two periods of extra-time played, before a winner was produced.
