Goalkeeper Aoife Hyland was in outstanding form as Scoil Chríost Rí claimed their first Lidl All-Ireland PPS Senior A title with victory over Loreto Clonmel at John Locke Park in Callan.

The Clonmel outfit were 0-3 to 0-0 in front after eight minutes with points from Kellyann Hogan, Caoimhe Mulcahy and Ava Fennessy.

The Laois side didn't score until the 13th minute when Orla Hennessy tapped over but four minutes later they had their first goal through Erone Fitzpatrick.

Fennessy drew the sides level again but Hennessy finished off a second goal for a 2-3 to 0-6 half-time lead for Scoil Chríost Rí.

Sarah Larkin then drove a low shot past Eimear McKeown and into the Loreto net in the 45th minute.

The game looked over, only for Caoimhe Mulcahy to score a goal up the other end moments later, finally beating Hyland after she had earlier denied them on several occasions.

Ailis O'Meara drove home a second Loreto goal in the dying minutes but Scoil Chríost Rí had done enough.
