How Galway squandered winning chances

2017 NHL: Galway led Wexford by seven points at half-time in Pearse Stadium and by 3-12 to 0-15 at the three-quarter mark. Despite playing against the wind, Wexford won the last quarter by 1-6 to 0-1. The defeat cost Galway promotion to Division 1A.

Result: Wexford 1-21 Galway 3-13

2016 All-Ireland semi-final: Galway led Tipperary by two points on the hour mark but conceded two quick goals which turned the game.

Result: Tipperary 2-19 Galway 2-18

2016 Leinster final: Kilkenny trailed Galway by five points just before half-time, but out-scored their rivals by 1-19 to 0-10 from there on.

2016 NHL: After leading Dublin by three points at half-time, Galway were overwhelmed in the second half, losing it by 1-10 to 0-3.

2015 All-Ireland final: Galway led Kilkenny by three points at half-time, but lost the second half by 0-14 to 1-4, the goal coming from a Joe Canning free in stoppage-time when the black-and-amber ribbons were already on the Liam MacCarthy Cup in what proved to be the final game for Anthony Cunningham (above).

Result: Kilkenny 1-22 Galway 1-18
