Paul Hoban's last-gasp free helped 13-man Warwickshire rescue a point against Louth in Darver.

Tony Joyce's side showed great heart to maintain their unbeaten start in division 3A as they finished strongly to deny Louth a second win in succession.

The Exiles surged into a four point lead, but the hosts fought back and had drawn level when Warwickshire's Ian Dwyer flicked in a goal.

Louth bounced back immediately, with a goal from Seaghan Connelly, and two Niall Arthur frees gave them a 1-9 to 1-7 interval lead.

The game continued to ebb and flow, but a red card for Warwickshire's Colm McBride 15 minutes into the second half seemed to put Louth in command, and two Arthur frees in quick succession sent them two points clear with four minutes remaining.

And when Michael O'Regan was sent off, the visitors looked dead and buried.

However, there was late drama as frees from Niall McKenna and Hoban levelled the game.
