Henry Shefflin set to take step into management
Kilkenny legend Henry Shefflin is set to take his first big step in management with his club, Ballyhale Shamrocks.
The 10-time All-Ireland champion, who retired from inter-county hurling after the 2014 season, was still active on the club scene this year, but according to the Kilkenny People, Shefflin will be co-manager of Ballyhale in 2018.
Shefflin will be joined by his brother Tommy, who led Carrickshock to the 2017 All-Ireland intermediate club hurling title.
Ballyhale Shamrocks is Ireland's most successful club, winning the All-Ireland senior club title six times, two more than any other team.
Shefflin has won three All-Ireland club titles in 2007, 2010 and 2015.
