Lancashire scored 2-6 in the second-half to deny a gutsy Cavan side a surprise victory at Jordanstown.

Cavan were left to rue a hotly disputed disallowed goal in the 58th minute. Cormac Wall looked to have poached a second goal for them, but the referee ruled it out for a square ball infringement.

In trying conditions, Cavan shocked their opponents by easing their way into a 0-4 to 0-3 lead inside the opening 10 minutes, thanks in part to two Sean Keating 65s.

However, with Ronan Crowley unerring from frees, Lancashire soon made it into the driving seat and led 0-12 to 1-8 at the interval after Anthony Sheridan's goal had given the Ulstermen a 1-4 to 0-5 lead.

Powered by the Cork-born Crowley brothers, Ronan and Darren, the hot favourites got their act together in the second-half and even though Paul Sheridan's frees kept Cavan in touch, a brace of goals from Martin Hawley proved pivotal.
