Roscommon experienced little difficulty in seeing off Louth at Dr Hyde Park yesterday, as goals from Gearoid Keenan, Warren Boyle and Naos Connaughton gave new manager Ciarán Comerford a dream start.

Playing against the wind, the home side established a three-point lead at the break, with Gearoid Keenan finding the net on 6 minutes.

Daniel Glynn landed five points, including four frees, while Ronan Geoghegan registered two frees and '65s' for Louth.

With the elements behind them, Roscommon were rarely troubled in the second-half.

Louth substitute Paul Matthews goaled for the Wee County, but late green flags from Boyle and Connaughton handed the home side a comfortable victory.
