Mayo and Meath shared the points after an exciting clash at the Adrian Freeman Memorial Park in Tooreen.
Trailing by five points at one stage in the second half, Mayo staged a remarkable recovery. A late point from distance, from Cathal Freeman, was enough to earn them a richly-deserved draw.
The sides traded scores for most of the first half until Meath kicked on, with three late points from Padraig O'Hanrahan, Darragh Kelly and Kevin Keena ensuring that they would lead by 0-11 to 0-8 at half-time.
The Royal County again dominated the early exchanges in the second half, and points from top scorer O'Hanrahan and Kelly saw them kick five clear.
But with Shane Boland in sparkling form, Mayo gradually reeled their opponents back in to force a grandstand finish, during which Freeman nailed the leveller.
