Donegal cruised to an emphatic victory over a hapless Longford side at Pearse Park on Saturday when Ciaran Matthewson, Sean McVeigh and Ronan McDermott provided the attacking firepower for the visitors.
The home side never threatened to spoil Donegal's party and they relied on the free-taking accuracy of Eoin Donnellan to take some of the bare look off the scoreboard.
Donegal manager Ray Durack praised the efforts of his players, especially their response from last week's four-point defeat against Tyrone.
"If we had performed at all against Tyrone, we would have been looking at a semi-final slot today, but if you don't perform you don't win games," he said.
"I knew in the dressing room that the boys were really ready for it. They were not going to leave Longford without a victory. It was good to see the likes of Paul Sheridan and Marty McGrath back in action. We are coming back to full strength and hopefully this game will bring us on for next week's encounter."
