Eamonn Kelly's charges were at their ease throughout, hitting the front early on and firing over some wonderful points in the first half, with Willie Dunphy catching the eye at corner-forward.

They were 13 points ahead of DIT when two first-half goals in the space of a minute from Neil Foyle and Patrick Whelan had them 2-19 to 0-6 in front at the interval.
