Laois recorded a facile 19-point win over DIT in Rathdowney yesterday to make it two wins from two in the compeition.
Eamonn Kelly's charges were at their ease throughout, hitting the front early on and firing over some wonderful points in the first half, with Willie Dunphy catching the eye at corner-forward.
They were 13 points ahead of DIT when two first-half goals in the space of a minute from Neil Foyle and Patrick Whelan had them 2-19 to 0-6 in front at the interval.
There was no respite for the students after half-time, as Patrick Whelan tapped home his second goal after three minutes, with Patrick Keating adding another for the home side. Colm Hayes did get a goal back for DIT late on, but it made little difference.
