THE Dublin hurlers finished an eventful 2018 win a Walsh Cup victory over Offaly in Parnell Park today, their second victory in a week under the new management of Mattie Kenny.

Much like Tuesday’s win over Carlow in Netwatch Cullen Park, Dublin’s greater firepower made the different.

Eamonn Dillon, in just his second game back after injury, provided much of the spark in a match played in dry and soft conditions in Parnell Park while Cian Boland made a smart impression on Kenny, scoring four points from play from midfield.

David Treacy, who started under his former club manager, was forced off in the first half with what looked like a hamstring injury while Offaly were reliant largely on Aidan Treacy’s accuracy from placed balls.

Dublin led by 0-15 to 0-10, with John Hetherton again showing well as a target man and Donal Burke, a sniping presence up front.
