Clare atoned for their defeat to Cork a week ago by handing out a 10-point drubbing to Waterford in the Munster Minor (U-17) Hurling Championship.

At Cusack Park, Ennis, yesterday, the Banner boys were 0-4 to 0-3 to the good after seven minutes before full-forward Keelan Guyler hit the net from a penalty.

And within seconds Clare had another one courtesy of Mark Rodgers.

The visitors rallied and a low shot from corner-forward Caolan MacCraith deceived Cillian O'Brien for a fine goal as Clare led by 2-9 to 1-9 at the break.

Clare recorded the first three scores of the second-half, but a James Power goal for Waterford three minutes from the end of normal time reduced the deficit to four points.

However, Mark Rodgers grabbed his second and Clare's third goal on the hour mark as the Banner men pulled away.
