A remarkable show of character in the closing minutes at Parnell Park earned Cuala back to back Dublin SHC titles in quite dramatic circumstances.

Mattie Kenny's side led by nine points in the first-half, and by 1-8 to 0-4 at the break, only to seemingly to toss the game away when they trailed by two late on.

But half a dozen points from the 54th minute onwards, including two from Colm Cronin who finished with 1-3 overall, was enough to hold onto their crown.

Oisin O'Rorke's 10-point haul had looked like it would be decisive for Crokes who hit eight unanswered points in the third quarter of the game and led 0-14 to 1-9 with six minutes remaining.

But Cuala's class counted in the end and they will return to the Donneycarney venue to play Laois representatives Borris-Kilcotton in the AIB Leinster club SHC next Sunday.
