Corovan and Carvill keep Orchard on track for silverware
Armagh 4-20 Longford 0-12
Armagh's hunt for a third Nicky Rackard Cup continued impressively at Crossmaglen on Saturday, when they swatted Longford aside with the minimum of fuss.
A sixth-minute goal was a statement of intent and from then on Sylvester McConnell's men were in complete control and will now prepare to face Tyrone in the last four.
Fiachra Bradley collected the first goal and by half-time Armagh had compiled a 2-12 to 0-3 lead, as well as 10 wides.
Further goals were added by David Carvill, Conor Corvan and Ryan Gaffney, while Artie McGuinness was dominant at full-back.
The final scoreline was ugly and one of those that does little for bridging the ability gaps in hurling, but Orchard boss McConnell was greatly encouraged.
"There are a lot of positives," he said.
"Our subs bench is starting to look a lot stronger now, we had to make decisions who to put on.
"We put up a good score there today and had 10 wides in the first-half. That would have been a massive score, and some goal chances which we hadn't been getting.
"It was tough for Longford, they got a bit of a tanking the last day out and another one there today, we feel for them."
