Cork midfielder denies walking out on the panel after early substitution during Tipp defeat
Daniel Kearney has denied leaving the Cork squad after last Sunday's loss to Tipperary in the Munster hurling championship.
The Rebels were soundly beaten 0-22 to 0-13 by the Premier County after their attempt at using a sweeper system backfired. The whole team malfunctioned on the day but Kearney seemed to be blamed more the most, with the 26-year-old called ashore after just 32 minutes during the clash at Semple Stadium.
After the game, there were reports that the midfielder may have left the panel as a result but Kearney tonight issued an emphatic statement on Twitter denying the rumours.
"Just to clarify, I have not left the Cork hurling panel, and the recent rumours that would say otherwise are totally false and have no basis," he tweeted.
