Cork colossus Aidan Walsh helps CIT weather storm
Cork it 1-19 St Pat's 1-14: Fitzgibbon Cup
Cork's Aidan Walsh hauled Cork IT back from the brink with 1-3 to keep their Fitzgibbon Cup title aspirations intact.
Pat Mulcahy's side got off to a terrible start and trailed 1-8 to 0-3 after the first quarter. But Walsh's 28th minute goal stopped the rot and he added three great second-half points, including one from a sideline cut, to seal a comfortable win.
The result means Cork IT can top Group A with a 100pc record if they beat UCD next Tuesday.
The hosts hit 1-6 without reply including a 13th-minute Eoin Price solo goal to move eight points clear. But two Pat Ralph frees settled Cork before Walsh's goal. Pat's led 1-10 to 1-6 at half-time but added just four more points.
