The 3,697 at Cusack Park got full value for money as Clare defied a wide count of 22 to edge past Limerick after extra-time.
The Banner hit the final three points of the game, through Tiernan Agnew and Gary Cooney (2).
Paul O'Brien fired Limerick into a four-point lead but Clare fought back to draw level at 0-7 apiece by the break.
Clare edged 0-14 to 0-11 ahead with five minutes to go, but Paul O'Brien landed a last-gasp long-range free to send the tie to extra-time.
It was 0-16 apiece after the first period.
