Kilkenny boss Brian Cody is sweating over the fitness of Bill Sheehan with the lively attacker emerging as a major doubt for their All-Ireland final date with Tipperary on Sunday week.

Sheehan (above) picked up a hamstring injury in training last weekend and faces a race against time to be fit, with his possible absence greatly decreasing the options at Cody's disposal.

The Dicksboro forward has impressed off the bench in recent games and was the second substitute to be sprung in their semi-final defeat of Limerick.

His clubmate Cillian Buckley is also believed to be feeling the effects of the knee injury which kept him out for large parts of this year but last term's captain is expected to be available for selection for the decider.

With Richie Leahy hauled off before half-time against the Treaty, it will be interesting to see if Cody starts Buckley and sides with experience in the pressure cooker of an All-Ireland final.
