Antrim deservedly won this clash at Cushendall between these two unbeaten teams.
In a nip and tuck affair, the sides were level 10 times over the 70 minutes, with never more than four points separating them.
The Saffrons' Ciarán Clarke, who had earlier missed a penalty, struck the encounter's first goal on 46 minutes, with Brian Byrne raising a green flag for Kildare 11 minutes later.
David Reidy was Kildare's main first-half threat, scoring five frees, and it was his 23rd-minute effort that put Kildare into the lead for the first time, 0-5 to 0-4.
Byrne's goal levelled it at 1-10, but the home side added the next four points, with Kildare unable to counter despite seven minutes of injury-time.
