Betting suspended on Pat Gilroy becoming the next Dublin hurling manager
Boylesports have suspended betting on former Dublin football manager Pat Gilroy becoming Dublin's next hurling manager.
Ger Cunningham stepped down as Dublin boss last month after a three-year stint with the Dubs that was riddled with controversy and numerous high-profile departures.
Former Galway manager Anthony Cunningham, Cuala boss Mattie Kenny and former Dublin manager Anthony Daly had all been linked with the job, however, according to Boylesports, ex-Dublin football boss Pat Gilroy has now emerged as the frontrunner.
A Boylesports statement read:
"The former St Vincent’s clubman started the day at 6/1, but due to the overwhelming demand to back him to be the next Dubs boss in Hurling, he was quickly cut into 3/1.
"The demand did not stop there and the last price he was backed at with us was even money."
