Predicting results in pre-season competitions is a hazardous exercise at the best of times but it's even more difficult when Dublin are operating without any of the familiar faces from their 2018 panel.

Of course stand-in boss Paul Clarke has worked the oracle in this competition before and in beating Meath last time out they showed they have serious reserves of talent, many of whom have won with the county at underage level.

Westmeath have started life under Jack Cooney well and were impressive in putting away Kildare and Longford so far in this competition.

They have more of their front-line players on duty but with a large crowd expected to be present in Parnell Park, expect the new-look Dublin side, who are playing for the chance to feature in the league, to be right in the mix.

Odds: Dublin 4/11 Westmeath 11/4 Draw 15/2

Verdict: Dublin
