DUBLIN IT are in pole position to make the O'Byrne Cup semi-final after claiming their second major scalp with a battling four-point victory at Bray last night.
The Garden County gave away two penalties in the first 20 minutes, both drilled in by DIT corner-forward Conor Madden, and it took points by John McGrath and Ross O'Brien to give the home side a 0-11 to 2-2 half-time advantage.
DIT held sway with the wind at their backs early in the second half but Wicklow could have seized the initiative when they were awarded a penalty.
However, John McGrath blasted the spot kick over the crossbar and at the other end of the field, Conor Grimes took advantage of an error by Wicklow keeper Brendan Doyle to bundle in the winning goal late on.
