Watch: Remembering when Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington dismantled Croke Park crossbar
Is there anything Padraig Harrington can't do?
The Major champion - who was today confirmed as captain of the Europe Ryder Cup team for 2020 - has enjoyed an illustrious career on the course but before he became one of the world's top golfers he was a promising Gaelic footballer - and took part in a particularly memorable game in Croke Park during his schoolboy years.
Na Fianna GAA club posted footage of an old Dublin Colleges' final between St Vincent's and Colaiste Eanna with Dublin legend Dessie Farrell playing for the former, and Harrington with the latter.
Amazingly, the three-time Major winner managed to take down the Croke Park crossbar with a long-range 45.
Dublin star Jonny Cooper enjoyed the old footage and Harrington has weighed in on the final too.
Never saw someone as deceptively quick as Dessie. He turned me so fast on the 1st ball that I slipped and sprained my wrist.Still hurts today https://t.co/TjxWCBZWL8— Padraig Harrington (@padraig_h) March 3, 2018
