Video: Former Armagh GAA star Aaron Kernan earns his Premier League stripes
Aaron Kernan took his place among some familiar names within Sunderland's squad with this preview from TG4 as part of a new TV show from AIB called 'The Toughest Trade'.
Kernan and Kilkenny hurling ace Jackie Tyrrell are taking part in an upcoming TV3 documentary that will see them swap lives with a professional athlete for a week.
The Crossmaglen star travelled to Sunderland to pit himself alongside their Premier League players while Tyrrell is going to Florida to do a similar swap with a Major League baseball player.
Kernan (31) said beforehand his main worry is the quality of his soccer touch, joking: "Brian Mallon, who played for Armagh and was a very good underage soccer player, reckons my second touch will be a tackle!"
Tonight a short video was released of Kernan's customary number five jersey hanging in the changing room alongside the rest of the Premier League stars.
Former English international David Bentley made an impressive GAA debut as he fired over three points in Crossmaglen Ranger's encounter with Silverbridge last week.
The 30-year-old former Arsenal and Tottenham star had his first taste of a gaelic football game last night after surviving two training sessions with the Armagh champions.
He lined out at centre-forward and made a good start, slotting a fine point from play before slotting over a placed ball. Another score would come in the second period as he finished with a hat-trick of points to his name.
