Tyrone AFL player Conor McKenna is expected to be cited for an alleged bite during a game yesterday.

The Essendon Bomber defender clashed with Western Bulldogs forward Tory Dickson on the ground, with Dickson subsequently complaining of an alleged bite, according to Australian publication The Age.

McKenna would face a lengthy ban if the citing commissioner reviews the incident and finds the former Gaelic footballer guilty.

The 22-year-old was an underage star for Tyrone, helping the county to an All-Ireland minor quarter-final in 2012 before making the jump to the AFL in 2014.

He made his Essendon debut in 2015 and at the end of last year signed a new four-year contract with the Melbourne club.
