Tributes pour in after Westmeath inter-county referee dies suddenly
Westmeath GAA has paid tribute to referee David Hannon, who passed away suddenly on Monday night.
The Mullingar-based Garda was due to referee a Westmeath SHC encounter between St Brigid's and Brownstown yesterday, where a minute's silence was held in his honour.
Mr Hannon, who was in his 30s, had been progressing on the inter-county scene, taking charge of this year's Leinster U17 hurling championship match between Dublin and Offaly.
He leaves behind a wife and three children.
Westmeath GAA released a statement on their Facebook page offering sympathy Mr Hannon's friends and family.
