Those out-of-control seagulls now targeting Dublin footballers...

THEY say that when a bird does its business on you it is good luck, and that rang true for Denis Bastick and the Dublin team this afternoon.

While all the seagull talk earlier in the week focused on them attacking people in the capital, the issue of gulls pooping on your head wasn't brought up.

But perhaps Senator Ned O'Keeffe should have raised this aspect of the birds' behaviour also.

Because during Dublin's 3-20 to 1-10 hammering of Meath in the Leinster Final this afternoon, a seagull decided to use Croke Park as a toilet.

With an aim as accurate as the Brogan brothers, the bird hit the top of midfielder Denis Bastick's head in the final minute of play.

Of course, this is not the first time this week that Dublin seagulls have made the news.

On Thursday, Fianna Fail's Ned O’Sullivan said that "Dublin seagulls have lost the run of themselves completely and must be stopped".

Bastick, presumably, concurs.
