THE THROW-IN PODCAST: Mayo's chances in the final, how to stop the Dubs and Kerry changes
It's an action-packed show with Alan Brogan, Ciaran Whelan, Dick Clerkin and Tomás Ó'Sé joining Johnny Ward, Rory O'Connor and Donnchadh Boyle on this week's Throw-In discussing the weekend's All Ireland football semi finals.
It's Dublin v Mayo in the All Ireland final for the second year running but how different will the result be this time around?
How good were the Dubs and just how poor were Tyrone?
"The Tyrone players haven't been able to deliver at this level," says Clerkin. "Too many players, once again, failed to step up to the mark."
"I feared Tyrone would dominate the terms of the game," admitted Whelan. "But Jim Gavin turned it on its head and Dublin suffocated Tyrone giving them no space at all."
In the other semi-final, Mayo never looked in trouble and the panel were asked if Kerry have taken a step backwards and if Mayo are the one team that will expose the Dubs' weaknesses?
"This Kerry team don't have the quality to compete against the likes of Dublin," says Ó'Sé. "We have to change the style of football we're playing."
"It was almost as if they players didn't believe in how they were set up and asked to play," says Brogan.
Despite Mayo's performance, Rory O'Connor is the only one tipping them to win the All Ireland with Clerkin, Brogan and Whelan tipping Dublin by a couple of points come the final.
