Sean Geaney
As manager of the victorious All-Ireland U-21 winning team, Geaney would appear to be the early favourite. He was a selector with Pat O'Shea for the last two seasons, Any lingering misgivings about O'Shea might carry over to Geaney, but he would provide continuity. the most obvious choice.
Jack O'Connor
There will undoubtedly be strong support for any potential return by O'Connor, the architect of the 2004 and 2006 successes. But Jack may not be high in popularity in the dressingroom after the publication of his autobiography which irked quite a few senior Kerry players. Currently in charge of Kerins O Rahilly's. An opportunity to slay the Tyrone giant may be appetising to a proud south Kerry man.
Eoin 'Bomber' Liston
The last man to guide Kerins O Rahillys to a county title in 2002 Liston, a current International Rules selector, has been linked with the job in the past, most notably two years ago when attempts were made to bring him in. He declined then and may do so again if asked.
Liam Kearns
The Kerry native has had spells with Limerick and more lately Laois, which wasn't a success. Based in Limerick he is a long shot here.
Seamus Moynihan
Linked to the position already as part of a package with O'Connor. Understood to be reluctant to get involved with so many players he played with. Too soon perhaps.
Maurice Fitzgerald
If Darragh O Se commits to staying and Kerry want the most out of him, the man to appoint for that task would be Fitzgerald. He is Darragh's wise counsel and would be a popular choice among players.
