Sherry floors Rossies

Fermanagh 2-6
Roscommon 0-11

Malachy O'Rourke is hoping that Saturday's smash-and-grab victory at Brewster Park can transform Fermanagh's season.

James Sherry plundered a last-minute goal to stun Roscommon, who had looked the better side.

"Sometimes a result like that can change a season and that is what we would be looking for," said Fermanagh manager O'Rourke. "We are not playing well, but the commitment is there and we just have to keep working hard and try and ensure that the quality is improved upon."

Ryan Carson scored the first goal just after the break from a rebound after his cheeky lob had hit the crossbar.

Roscommon, though, proceeded to out-score their hosts by seven points to two -- until Sherry's late strike -- with Donie Shine landing six points.
