Royals close on new sponsor
Meath have moved closer to securing a sponsor for the season and hope to be in a position to unveil a new partner next week, WRITES COLM KEYS.
The Royal County's jerseys will bear the name of their previous sponsor, Menolly Group, in their NFL Div 2 opener against Armagh on Saturday night.
House-builders Menolly Group withdrew from a lucrative sponsorship deal -- thought to be worth E250,000 per annum -- before Christmas, midway through a three-year term.
County Board chairman Barney Allen, though, is confident that a replacement will soon be found.
"We have been in talks with a number of potential sponsors," said Allen, who thinks a deal will be completed within a two-week time frame.
