Paddy McBrearty stars as UUJ book place in Independent.ie Sigerson semi-final
St. Mary's University 1-06 University of Ulster Jordanstown 0-14

The footballers of University of Ulster Jordanstown booked their place in the semi-finals of the Independent.ie sponsored Sigerson Cup with a five-point victory over St. Mary’s.
Played in spring sunshine at the Jordanstown campus,. The hosts raced into an early lead with the breeze at their backs.
Ethan Rafferty, two points from Donegal star Paddy McBrearty and a score from Kieran Hughes saw Jordanstown take command early on.
St. Mary’s finished the half with just two scores as their packed defence tried to contain their opponents, with McBreaty in particular prominent throughout. His sideline, sliced between the posts with the outside of his foot was the score of the half as Jordanstown took a 0-07 to 0-02 lead at the break.

The second half opened with a point for either side before St. Mary’s powered back into the contest with a rocket of a goal from Jerome Johnston, with Kevin McKernan raising the white flag to reduce the gap to two pints.
However, the response was swift and decisive. Ronan McNamee, Conan Grugan and a free from McBrearty extended their advantage. In front of the watching Tyrone manager Mickey Harte, substitute Richard Donnelly hit the final score of the game to book the hosts a place in Friday’s semi-final.
