Kerry cruised to record fourth straight All-Ireland minor football title today, with captain David Clifford delivering a masterful four-goal performance to secure a win over Derry.

Clifford, one of the best ever prospects to emerge from the minor grade, scored , including 2-3 in a first half that saw him hit the net twice in the opening 15 minutes to effectively kill the game.

He also showed his vision with a sumptuous assist for the Kingdom's third goal, scored by Fiachra Clifford, which saw Kerry take a 3-8 to 0-5 lead in at half time.

Clifford (Fiachra) grabbed his second goal early in the second half ended the game as a contest.

Derry continued to battle and a Paddy Quigg penalty raised their spirits but it was just a brief reprieve.

David Clifford bolstered his tally and his growing reputation with two further goals to put clear water between the teams.

In the end, the Kingdom had 24 points to spare.

Speaking after the game to TG4, Clifford said: "Words can't describe it, I actually don't have a clue what to say.

"A final is about putting a performance in and everyone can see that that's exactly what we did.

"Four in a row was a big thing for the people of Kerry and thankfully we got over the line.

"We were expecting more of a defensive set-up from Derry, maybe it's a good thing they didn't do it."
