Roscommon look set to put Aidan O'Rourke's name forward for ratification tonight to replace Kevin McStay as their manager, writes Colm Keys.

The former Louth manager offers a lot of experience having also worked with Down, Kildare and Armagh in a coaching capacity, but Roscommon's decision to move outside the county once more is potentially divisive, even in the dressing-room.

Defender Seanie McDermott suggested in a tweet over the weekend that the county would be better served staying inside.

"Plenty of people inside our county well good enough for the job. Roscommon need an inside manager. Better for the whole progression of Roscommon football," he tweeted.

Former player David Casey has caught the eye with clubs in Roscommon and Leitrim in recent years but was not thought to have been under consideration.
