Carlow kicked 1-14 in the second-half to comfortably beat Wicklow in the league.

Carlow played with the wind at their backs in the second-half and they kicked some exquisite scores from distance to rack up the impressive tally.

They were behind at half-time though, as Wicklow took their chances with limited possession. Their defence shut out the Carlow attack which could only get as far as the 45 before being met by a Wicklow wall.

At the other end Rory Finn and Seanie Furlong kicked some long-range points.

Carlow improved in the second-half and kicked seven unanswered points, including a couple of beauties from Darragh Foley and Paul Broderick, to turn a three-point deficit into a four-point lead.

Whereas Wicklow could kick the ball over the Carlow defence in the first-half, they had to work the ball closer to goal in the second facing a strong wind and they had little success.

Shane O'Neill's goal in the 61st minute killed off any chance Wicklow had of getting a result.
