DIT finished their O'Byrne Cup campaign with a win against Wicklow in an error-strewn game in Blessington.

They led by five points at one stage in the first-half and while Wicklow were a point ahead early in the second period, DIT finished strongly to secure the win.

It took Wicklow 17 minutes to score, by which time DIT had kicked four. Wicklow added another point before a Killian O'Gara goal put the students ahead by 1-04 to 0-2. Seánie Furlong then scored a lucky goal when Karl Grimes let his shot slip into the net and a converted 45 left only a point between the teams at half-time.

Wicklow led by a point early in the second-half, but DIT hit five points to one in the final 25 minutes. David Sheehy and Ian Fahey kicked three frees between them to punish some Wicklow indiscipline, while subs Joe Halligan and Michael Stewart Byrne got the other two.
