Andy O'Brien gave DCU a lesson as he powered Wicklow to the final with two goals at Rathdrum yesterday.
O'Brien drilled home his first goal after just four minutes and, 20 minutes later, he got a touch to a long ball from midfielder Thomas Doyle for his second.
Wicklow got completely on top of the students in the opening 30 minutes.
DCU were made to work hard for their seven first-half points with Emmett Kent restricted to just four of those, having taken Down for 17 the previous week.
Alan Driver grabbed Wicklow's third goal shortly before half-time and this left the home side enjoying a 3-8 to 0-7 lead at the break.
A DCU fightback was on the cards when Eamon Kent goaled a free, but Jonathan O'Neill blasted Wicklow's fourth soon after and the jig was up for the Dubliners.
