O Flaharta heads Galway list
Galway's executive will sift through the names tonight of the five candidates in line to replace Joe Kernan as football manager.
The list is headed by former Westmeath manager Tomas O Flaharta and the current Galway minor manager Gerry Fahy, while Matt Duggan, Pete Warren and former Mayo midfielder Pat Fallon are also nominations.
Galway will decide whether or not to add any 'wild card' candidates. Billy Morgan has met with a leading Galway official in the last week and one firm of bookmakers in the county has stopped taking bets on the former Cork boss.
The former Limerick manager Liam Kearns withdrew his name from the list of candidates for the vacancy in Limerick and is on the record as being interested in the Galway position.
Derry will unveil their new manager on Thursday night, with John Brennan and Malachy O'Rourke thought to be the front-runners. Liam Bradley has also been in the frame, despite committing to Antrim for another season.
Meanwhile, Kieran McGeeney is to meet with the Kildare top brass this week with expectations that he will agree to a new three-year term.
